We are a private enterprise, based in Ecuador, with the aim of growing, processing and selling organic agricultural products as well as collected wild products.
We support small farmers and communities in the following fields:
- Training small farmers in organic agriculture pilot projects. We encourage small farmers to change from conventional to organic growing practices.
- Organic agriculture projects:
We own a nursery for germinating native tree species for sustainable forestry projects such as:
- Cacao Nacional Arriba Fino de Aroma: A cacao variety which has been disappearing as new, high yielding, varieties have been displacing this native species despite their relative lack of aroma.
The Cacao Nacional Arriba Fino de Aroma tree only grows in Ecuador. It is a prized species among chocolate liking because of its unique floral aroma and its nut flavor taste.
Our goal is to promote this native variety to be grown beside the newer varieties.
- Chonta Caspi: This wood can be found in the jungle. There is only one tree every two hectars due to the trees low germination rate. Specifically, due to the thick seed pod, many seeds do not fall.
Our goal is to look for these seeds, plant them and help to prevent the extinction of this beautiful and important species.
- Certification: We partially finance the certification process for farms and small processors provided by international firms as (BCS, ECOCERT)
- Industrialization: We finance and advise farmers on agricultural production and post-harvest techniques focusing on quality control in their production.
